ヤグモ地方にはベルトラムやガルアークが存在するシュトラール地方のように冒険者ギルドや商人ギルドといった組織が存在せず、使用されている貨幣もシュトラール地方のものとは異なる。
また、ヤグモ地方ではシュトラール地方で使用されている人間族の言葉とは異なる言語が用いられている。
だが、長い年月を暮らしている精霊の民の最長老であるアースラはヤグモの言語にも通じており、日常会話ができる程度にはアースラから言葉を習っていた。
今では発音はぎこちないものの、日常会話に支障がない程度には言葉を習得してある。

リオは、ヤグモの各国家を西側からしらみ潰しにあたって、現地の住民達に両親の名を聞き、知り合いがいないか探していた。
だが、両親の名前とヤグモという地方名以外に両親の出身を知る手がかりがなく、捜索は難航しているというのが現状である。
ヤグモ地方には大小三十近い国家が存在しているのだ。
それだけの国々の中から二人の人物を探し出すのは、砂漠の中で針を探すのに等しい作業とまでは言えなくとも、相当に困難であることは間違いない。
リオが一つの国家に滞在する時間はおよそ一月から二月程度であり、既に四つの国を巡っていた。
ヤグモを構成する各国家には、それぞれ一つの巨大な都市と、その周辺に衛星のように広がる街や村があるのが特徴である。

今、リオは、カラスキと呼ばれる国家の都市に向かっており、その近辺に位置する少し大きな村にやって来たところである。
聞いた話によればカラスキは今までにリオが巡って来た都市と比べて段違いに人口が多いという。
